# Hide Custom Sign Products from Your Storefront
Every time a user adds a custom sign to the cart, our app creates the sign as a “product” in your Shopify backend. This is necessary in handling and purchasing the sign. However, since these are customised products, you may wish to hide them from being displayed on your storefront. In this guide, we will walk you through the various ways to hide these custom sign products from being displayed on your storefront.

Every time a user adds a custom sign to the cart, our app creates the sign as a “product” in your Shopify backend. This is necessary in handling and purchasing the sign. However, since these are customised products, you may wish to hide them from being displayed on your storefront.
In this guide, we will walk you through the various ways to hide these custom sign products from being displayed on your storefront.
## 1\. Create a Custom "All" Collection
By default, Shopify has a built-in “All” collection, which features all your products in your store, including custom sign products. You can override this collection by creating a new collection with the same URL handle, but with filters to exclude custom signs.
**Steps:**
1. In your **Shopify** admin, go to **Products** > **Collections**.
2. Click **Create collection**.
3. Enter a **Title,** e.g. “All Products”.
4. In the **Conditions** **Type** section, choose the **Smart** option.
5. In the Conditions section, set the following:
- **Products must match** is set to **all conditions**.
- **First dropdown**: select **Type**.
- **Second dropdown**: select **is not equal to**.
- **Third field**: enter `Custom Neon`.
6. In the **Search engine listing** section:
- Click on the pencil icon to edit.
- Change the URL handle to: all
7. Click **Save**.
This will override Shopify’s default “All” collection and will exclude custom sign products from appearing on your storefront.
## 2\. Exclude Custom Signs from Your Collections
Custom sign products can appear in your collections if they meet the collections’ conditions. For example, if you have a collection for products priced under $200, any custom sign products that meet this criterion will be included and displayed on your storefront. You can apply additional conditions to filter our custom signs.
**Steps:**
1. In your Shopify admin, go to **Products** > **Collections**.
2. Select the **Collection** you want to edit.
3. In the Conditions section, ensure **Products must match** is set to **all conditions**.
4. Click **Add another condition**, then set the following:
- **First dropdown**: select **Type**.
- **Second dropdown**: select **is not equal to**.
- **Third field**: enter `Custom Neon`.
This ensures that custom sign products are excluded from the collection and will not appear on your storefront for this collection.
## 3\. Exclude from Product Recommendation
Some themes automatically show recommended products and related products to customers on your product pages. Unfortunately, it is not possible to exclude custom signs products from appearing in these sections.
However, you can use third-party apps like [Shopify Search & Discovery](https://apps.shopify.com/search-and-discovery) to add recommended and related products manually. This will allow you to display only the products you want customers to see.
**Steps:**
1. Install the [Shopify Search & Discovery](https://apps.shopify.com/search-and-discovery) app from the Shopify App Store.
2. Go to the **Search & Discovery** app settings.
3. In the menu, click on **Recommendations**. On this page, you will see a list of all your products with their complementary and related products.
4. Click the product that is currently showing custom signs as recommendations or related products.
5. Search and manually assign non-custom sign products to complement the product.
6. Repeat this process for any other products that show custom signs as recommendations.
Only the products you have manually added will now be shown in the recommendation section.
