# How to create an API Token

API Tokens are used to bring data in from your ecommerce system (such as WooCommerce) into Sign Customiser. This is used for features such as Manufacturer Emails, which requires us to be notified of when you get a new order. Follow these steps to generate a new API token: Log in to your Sign Customiser dashboard. In the left sidebar, under Integrate, click API Tokens. Click Create token. Give your token a name. A good name would be the platform you are going to be using it on, e.g. WordPress, Etsy, etc. Click Create. Copy the token that is shown to you. You will not be able to see this value again so make sure you have copied it somewhere safe. You can now paste this token into your integration of choice.
