This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from signcustomiser.com (the “Site”).
Personal Information We Collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site.
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information”.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you;
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store—you can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here.
When AI search is on in our help centre, we share the questions that you send with AI service providers. Refer to “Help Centre AI Search” below.
When you use the AI Sign Designer, we share the image that you upload with AI service providers. Refer to “AI Sign Designer” below.
Help Centre AI Search
Our help centre at www.signcustomiser.com/help/ has a search dialog that can use AI service providers. This section applies only when we turn on AI search for your browser. We can turn on AI search for some browsers, for all browsers or for no browsers.
When you type in the search box, the search does not send the text to us. When you press Enter or select Try again, the search sends your question, the selected search area (All, Docs or API) and a random request code to our server. If you change the search area after a search, the search sends the same question again. If the search cannot start, or fails before it finds pages, your browser can look for pages in a list of help centre page titles and links that it downloads from the help centre. This does not send your question.
When AI search is on, we use your question as follows:
- We send your question to an AI service provider. The provider makes an embedding (a numerical form of the text) that we use to find related help centre pages.
- When AI answers are on, we send your question and the related help centre text to an AI service provider. The provider writes a short answer with links.
Before we keep a question or an answer, our server tries to remove credentials, for example passwords, API keys and tokens. This removal does not make the record anonymous. A question that you type can identify you. Do not type personal data in the search box.
We keep each question and its answer. After 90 days, we stop using them. We keep other search records for a longer time for reports. These records contain data such as the result, the search area, the time and a reference to the cost. They do not contain the question or the answer.
When your browser is in the AI search group, the help centre sets two cookies:
spc_docs_search_cohortcontains a signed code that shows the search group of your browser. Scripts on the page cannot read this cookie. It expires after 24 hours.spc_docs_search_dialogtells the help centre to show the AI search dialog. It expires after 24 hours.
Our server uses your IP address to make a client code. This code changes each day. The code does not contain your IP address. We use the code to limit the number of searches and to select the search group. We keep the code for approximately 2 minutes to count searches. We do not keep the code or your IP address in the search records.
The rights in “Your Rights” also apply to your search questions and answers. To use these rights, send an email to support@signcustomiser.com. Tell us the date and the text of your question, so that we can find the record.
AI Sign Designer
The AI Sign Designer makes a sign design from an image. You can use it in these places:
- A sign customiser on a store.
- The Sign Customiser admin.
- Our API.
- An AI agent that connects to our MCP server.
When you start a design, we send these items to AI service providers:
- The image that you upload, and images that we make from it.
- The design settings, for example the sign type and the colours that the store offers.
We send these items so that the providers can make the design. They can process the items outside Australia.
We keep the image and the design files in storage in the United States. We use them to supply the design files, to show your designs, and to operate and support the service.
An image can contain personal data, for example a face or a name. Upload only an image that you have the right to share.
The rights in “Your Rights” also apply to your images and design files. To use these rights, send an email to support@signcustomiser.com.
