Switch currency based on user's IP address - Shopify
Last updated:
Sign Customiser does not use the location of a visitor to choose the currency. It shows prices in the currency that your Shopify storefront uses. To change the currency by location, set up the change in your storefront. Sign Customiser then uses the same currency.
Use Shopify Markets (recommended)
Shopify Markets lets you show prices in a local currency for each market. Your theme tells Sign Customiser which market is active. Sign Customiser then shows prices in the currency of that market.
To show a market by location, go to Online Store > Preferences in your Shopify admin. In the Automatic redirection section, turn on the Country/region setting. Shopify then finds the location of the customer and shows the market for that location. For more information, read Set up automatic storefront redirection for your customers in the Shopify Help Center.
For setup steps for Markets, read Enable Shopify markets on your store.
If your store uses Markets and you approve Shopify Markets access, Sign Customiser publishes each generated sign to the active market of the customer. If Sign Customiser asks you to approve Shopify Markets access, approve it. Approval is optional for product creation. Without it, Sign Customiser creates the product, but it does not publish the product to the market. If a Shopify Market uses a percentage price adjustment, the customiser shows prices without that adjustment until you approve access.
Use a supported currency app
If you cannot use Shopify Markets, use a currency app that Sign Customiser supports. Sign Customiser supports Beast Currency Converter.
For the apps that Sign Customiser supports, read Multi-Currency.
If you use a different app, check the prices in your customiser before you make it live.
