Export orders as CSV via email
Export your Sign Customiser orders as a CSV file. You get an email with a private download link. Choose a preset or custom date range.
Last updated:
Sign Customiser can export your orders as a CSV spreadsheet. A private download link for the CSV file goes to the contact email of your Store. If the Store has no contact email, the link goes to the email of the account owner in the Universal admin. In the Shopify admin, the link goes to the shop email held from Shopify only when no contact email is saved for the shop or for the Store. The export includes each customisation detail, such as fonts, colours, sizes, and extras. You can see what each customer ordered.
The built-in export of Shopify gives line item details, such as the product name, price, SKU and quantity. The export of Sign Customiser gives the sign specification for each order, such as text, font, colours, size and extras. It does not include uploaded artwork files.
Note: The export does not include orders placed before 15 July 2025.
How to export your orders
-
Open Sign Customiser in your Shopify admin or in the Universal admin.
-
Click Orders in the navigation.
-
Find the Email order export card. It is on the right of the page.

-
Open the Orders to export list.
-
Choose a preset. Or choose Custom range and enter the From and To dates.
-
If you need a different range, change the list now. The list opens on Last 30 days.

-
Click Export.
-
Wait for the email. The export runs in the background. The success message says the email arrives within the next 30 minutes.
-
In the email, click the Download button. The button label also shows the file name. The email contains a private link. It does not contain an attachment.
Important: The download link in the email expires after 60 minutes. Download the file when the email arrives.
If the admin shows an error, no export starts. Read “Export limits” below. For other help, contact Sign Customiser support at support@signcustomiser.com.
Date range options
The Orders to export list has these options:
-
Last 30 days and Last 90 days: a rolling window that ends today.
-
This month: from the first day of the current month to today.
-
Year to date: from 1 January to today.
-
Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4: each calendar quarter. A quarter that has not started uses the previous year. The label shows the year.
-
Full year: all of the previous calendar year. The label shows the year, for example Full year 2025.
-
Custom range: you enter a start date and an end date.
Export limits
Each export can cover at most 366 days and 1,000 orders. Each export also has a maximum estimated file size. If a request is over the date range, order count or estimated file size limit, the admin shows an error and no export starts.
To export a longer history, make more than one export with different date ranges. If an export has too many orders, use a shorter date range.
What’s in the CSV
Each row in the CSV is one option or detail of an order line item. An order with more than one customisation choice uses more than one row. All of these rows have the same order number.
The columns cover three areas.
Order details
-
Order source, order number, date, and customer email
-
Order total, currency, and shipping line
-
External order ID, for example your Shopify order ID
Line item details
-
Line item title, unit price, total price, and quantity
-
Line item source and identifiers
-
Customiser ID that created the line item
Customisation details
-
Font selection (ID and label)
-
Text content (in
option_value). The line number of a text item is intext_lineand its item number is intext_item. Some rows leave these two columns blank. Examples are the summary of the sign text and the face text rows of a lightbox -
Colour selections for each sign part: face, side, trim, halo, back, top, bottom, left, right, and tube
-
Option group, key, label, and value for extras, sizes, materials, supports, and each other selected option

Check the column names in the file before you use a column.
Tip: Open the CSV in Google Sheets or Excel. Filter the order_number column to see all details for one order.
