Cart and checkout behaviour

Sign Customiser has three behaviours that can occur after a customer adds a product to the cart. This setting is only for Stores that sell through Shopify. Wix sets the cart behaviour in its own integration. For more information about the Wix integration, read Wix Integration.

Straight to Cart Page

The customer goes to the cart page.

Straight to Checkout

The customer goes to the checkout page.

Cart Window or Custom integration

Use this option when you want your mini-cart or slide-out cart to open after the customer adds the product. In default mode (when Use iframe (experimental) is off), the Sign Customiser theme block tries to open the cart drawer on Shopify Horizon. On other themes, the cart can stay closed. If your cart does not open, add the JavaScript event listener in the next section. The listener sends added:ajaxProduct, which opens the cart only if your theme listens for that event.

Create a JavaScript event listener for our custom event

After the product is in the cart of the customer, Sign Customiser sends a JavaScript event named triggerUpdateCart on your storefront. It sends this event only when you select Cart Window or Custom integration. The other two options send the customer to a different page, so they do not send this event.

In default mode (when Use iframe (experimental) is off), with Cart Window or Custom integration selected, the Sign Customiser theme block already refreshes Dawn, Horizon and some custom carts. It also sends the added:ajaxProduct event after triggerUpdateCart. Add your own listener only if your cart does not open, or if the block uses the Use iframe (experimental) option. In default mode, with Cart Window or Custom integration selected, a page with this listener receives added:ajaxProduct two times for each add.

Change behaviour after adding to cart

1. Open the Sign Customiser admin for your Store.

2. Click Customisers in the home navigation.

3. Click the customiser that you want to change.

4. In the customiser menu, go to Settings → General Settings.

   

5. Scroll down to the Cart section. In Action after product is added to cart, select Straight to Cart Page, Straight to Checkout or Cart Window or Custom integration.

   

6. At the bottom of the form, click Save.
