Sign Customiser

Last updated:

The Letter Model is designed for merchants who need flexible pricing and scalable sign dimensions. Unlike the Simple Letter Model, which uses predefined sizes, the Advanced Letter Model calculates the sign’s dimensions and price dynamically based on the selected font, text, and size.

This guide will walk you through the main steps required to create a functional Advanced Letter Model customiser, from collecting information from your supplier to configuring Pricing, Sizes and Fonts.

How the Advanced Letter Model Works

The Advanced Letter Model uses the actual characteristics of each font and the material required to produce the sign to calculate its dimensions and price.

You can configure:

  • Pricing – Create flexible pricing rules based on letter cost or actual material length.

  • Sizes – Create scalable size options and control how large or small customers can make their signs.

  • Fonts – Add your fonts and configure the measurements used to calculate the final sign dimensions.

Step 1: Prepare Your Sizing and Pricing Information

Before setting up your customiser, you need to collect the information required to configure your pricing, sizes, and fonts.

We have created a guide and information sheet that you can use to request this information from your supplier:

Step 2: Configure the App Settings

Once you have prepared your data, you are ready to add it to the app.

Here is an overview of the setup process:

  1. Add Your Sizes Define your available size options and limits for each size.

  2. Add Your Prices Set pricing rules for each size based on character count and number of lines.

  3. Add Your Fonts Upload and assign fonts to the appropriate pricing rules.

These are the core steps to help you get started with the Advanced Letter Model.

Step 3: Enable AI Sign Designer (Optional)

The Advanced Letter Model also supports AI Sign Designer.

AI Sign Designer allows customers to upload images and generate production-ready SVG signs. These designs are priced using the same material length calculations as typed text.

To set this up, you can configure the default sign dimensions and minimum production height for uploaded designs.
