Drag, Scale, Rotate Words and Icons

Let your customers drag, scale and rotate the words and shapes in their design. Your customers can then place each word where they want it.

This feature gives your customers these abilities:

1. Independent word sizing: Change the size of each word separately.

2. Independent word layout: Drag each word to a new position. A word does not have to stay on its own line.

3. Word layer priority: Make words overlap. Your customer selects a word. Then your customer clicks the Move layer up or Move layer down button to move the word one layer in front of or behind the word next to it.

4. Snap to grid: Keep words in line. When Snap to Grid is on, an item snaps to a grid when your customer drags or transforms it.

How to enable drag, scale and rotate on your customiser

1. Open the Sign Customiser admin for your Store.

2. Click Customisers in the navigation.

3. Click the customiser that you want to change.

4. In the sidebar, go to Features → Drag, Scale, Rotate.

   Note: This menu item is not shown for Lightbox customisers.

5. Turn on the options that you want. Each customiser has its own settings.

   • Enable Dragging: Your customers can drag a word or shape to a new position.

   • Enable Scaling: Your customers can resize a word or shape.

   • Enable Rotation: Your customers can rotate a word or shape to any angle.

   

6. Optional: Turn on Snap to Grid. Items then snap to a grid when your customers drag or transform them.

7. Optional: Change Grid step. This field shows when Snap to Grid is on. Enter a number from 5 to 200. The default is 20. A smaller number gives finer control on small signs.

8. Click Save.

What your customer sees

Your customer clicks a word in the design. The word then shows a selection border.

• When Enable Dragging is on, your customer drags the word to a new position.

• When Enable Scaling is on, the word shows handles. Your customer uses the handles to resize the word.

• When Enable Rotation is on, the word shows a rotation handle. Your customer uses this handle to rotate the word.

The Move layer up and Move layer down buttons change which word is in front. They show when your customer selects a word and Enable Dragging, Enable Scaling or Enable Rotation is on. On screens 1025 px or wider, the buttons show in the toolbar above the sign. On narrower screens, the buttons show in the sidebar when Mobile View is Stacked all at once. This is the default. With One Selection at a Time, the buttons do not show on narrower screens.
