How your products are created
Sign Customiser makes a product each time a customer designs a sign and adds it to the cart.

Sign Customiser makes a product for each sign that a customer adds to the cart. The Sign Customiser admin has no page or button that makes a product for you.
The three steps that make a product

A customer opens one of your customisers on your storefront.

The customer designs a sign.

The customer adds the sign to the cart with the add-to-cart button.
Sign Customiser makes the product at step 3. The product keeps the design, the size, the selected options and the price. It shows on the Products page in Sign Customiser. If you connect Shopify or WooCommerce, the product is also created in that store.
The customer does not have to complete the checkout. Sign Customiser makes the product when the customer adds the sign to the cart.
If your customiser uses Quote Mode or the Etsy integration
Quote Mode and the Etsy integration replace the add-to-cart button. In these two cases, Sign Customiser makes no product.

Quote Mode: The price box button says Finalize Quote. The customer sends a quote request. The request shows under Quotes in your admin.

Etsy integration: The price box button says Continue to Etsy. The customer gets a summary of the design to copy and a preview to download. The customer then returns to Etsy.
See the three steps on our demo store
Our demo store shows the default flow. It does not change your store or your products.
1. Open Neon Sign - Fixed Width Model on the demo store.
2. Write your text, then select Finish.
3. Select the add-to-cart button.
The button says Add to Bag unless you change it. To change this label, open your customiser in Sign Customiser, go to Settings > Languages, open the English language, edit Add to cart button, select Save draft, and then select Publish.
The review step is optional
The review step in the demo is the review screen. You can turn it off. The customer then sees a shorter flow. The price box button says Add to Bag straight after the options. Sign Customiser still makes the product when the customer selects this button.
To turn off the review screen, open your customiser and go to Features > Review Screen. Then clear Enable review screen, and select Save.
Why Sign Customiser makes a product
Each sign is different. Your store needs a product to hold the design, to take the payment and to make the order. This is why Sign Customiser makes one product each time a customer adds a sign to the cart.
Custom sign products can fill your storefront. If you use Shopify, you can hide new products from your storefront. The article “Hide Custom Sign Products from Your Storefront” shows how.
